ONLINE COACHES CERTIFICATION
Lake Area USSSA Baseball REQUIRES all managers to be certified. Lake Area USSSA Baseball offers a Coaches Clinic to certify the managers. Managers now have the option of getting certified by going on-line. CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE CERTIFICATION PAGE.

AGE CUTOFF
Ages 4U-14U - USSSA Baseball age cutoff is January 1. Go by the age of the player on December 31, 2009. (Except 4U - As long as they player turn 4 by December 31, 2010, they are eligible)
 

DIVISIONS - "More Kids Playing More Baseball"
USSSA is always looking for new ways to get "more kids playing more baseball". The Lake Area League will continue to offer the following programs:
1) 7 & Under T-Ball/Coach Pitch - The 7 & Under will now have its own division. It will be a transition division from T-Ball to Coaches Pitch. It will be a combination of T-Ball and Coaches Pitch to enhance the child's learning experience at this stage of development.
2) 8 & Under Coaches Pitch Division - Because of the growth in participation, the 8 & Under will now have its own division.
3) 9 & Under Kids Pitch Modified Stealing - The 9 & Under will have its own division. It will be a transition division with the focus on developing all positions and getting ready for the player pitch aspect. Segments of the game, such as base stealing, will be modified to enhance the learning experience at this stage of the child's development.
4) 10 & Under Division - Because of the growth in participation, the 10 & Under will continue to have its own division.
5) We also offer 11/12U division and 13/14U division.

BRING YOUR OWN TEAM INTO THE 4U, 5U, 6U, 7U and 8U DIVISION
USSSA allows teams to form themselves in the 4U, 5U, 6U, 7U and 8U Divisions. You can either bring a whole team or a partial team and we will give you enough players to make the remainder of your team. This will encourage teams to form with neighborhood kids or classrooms. Kids and register separately. Just fax or email a list of kids you want on the same team. AS LONG AS A PLAYER TURNS 4 YEARS OLD DURING THE CURRENT CALENDAR YEAR, THEY ARE ELIGIBLE.

All-Star Post Season Championships
Anyone wanting to Manage an All-Star team needs to contact your league director. Lake Area USSSA Baseball will compete in the All-Star Post Season State and World Series Championships in 2009. In keeping with our commitment of "more kids playing more baseball", Lake Area USSSA Baseball will organize teams from kids in the Lake Area League. These teams will be formed from players that want to play in the Championships. Any player wanting to participate will be placed on a team. We may form more than one team if we get enough kids wanting to play. We will have teams in the 6u, 7u, 8u, 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u, 14u Divisions. Depending on Manager availability and commitment. 

USSSA Baseball Voted into the Prestigious Ranks of USA Baseball
USSSA Baseball became the newest member of the prestigious USA Baseball Organization. USSSA Baseball met the strict and ridged guidelines set by USA Baseball. By a majority vote, USSSA is proud in only six years to have achieved this goal.

USSSA Elite Major World Series
32 teams will be invited to the Elite World Series. The method for qualifying will be a little different making it more convenient for teams to attend.

All New USSSA Drafted League and All-Star State Championship
In keeping with our commitment of "more kids playing more baseball" Louisiana USSSA is constantly looking at new ways to accommodate more kids. Louisiana USSSA will hold Drafted League All-Star State Championship in 2009. The event will be open to All-Star teams created from Drafted Leagues. Look for details to follow. E-Mail Us about this.
